Zoom in split view Latest
Zooming in a split view changes only the side you’re using, even when both sides show the same site.
Choosing Stay on Page when you close a window keeps the window and its tabs working as before.
Choosing a saved login always signs you in with the account you picked.
Joining Sync from a new Mac asks you to confirm the matching words on that Mac too.
Updates download faster: Orb fetches only what changed instead of the whole app.
Security and reliability improvements.

Picture in Picture controls
The buttons on the Picture in Picture window answer clicks: close, pause, mute, back to the tab and the seek bar.
Dragging the window anywhere away from its buttons still moves it.

Delete folders and pinned tabs
Press ⌫ on a folder in the sidebar, or choose Delete Folder from its menu, to delete it and everything in it, including folders brought over from another browser.
Pinned tabs can be deleted too: choose Delete Tab from a pinned tab’s menu, or select several and choose Delete Tabs.
Deleted folders and tabs go to the Archive, and Undo brings them back.

Security fixes
Important security fixes. We recommend updating right away.
The window buttons stay in their place beside the sidebar.
Drag Glimpse by its header to move it anywhere in the window, and double-click the header to centre it again.
An empty Orbit window shows Orb’s dark card instead of a blank white page.
The Sync recovery words stay out of screenshots and screen sharing, and private windows leave less behind when you save.

Orb’s own PDF reader
PDFs open in Orb’s own reader, built on the Mac’s PDF engine, so scrolling and pinch zoom stay smooth even on heavy, image-rich files. Pages fit the window without being blown up.
Select and copy text, fill in forms, open password-protected files, jump around from the page thumbnails and search with ⌘F. A small bar at the bottom zooms, saves and prints.
Links in a PDF open the way links on a page do; ⌘-click opens one in a new tab.
PDFs served from your own Mac open again.

Pages appear without a white flash
A page that hasn’t drawn yet waits on the window’s own background instead of flashing white: the tab Orb restores at launch, a tab you haven’t opened since, and a search that opens in a new tab.
Closing a folder keeps the tab you’re on in view beneath it, and picking another tab tucks that tab back into the folder.
When the sidebar slides back in, its sidebar button lands right beside the window buttons.
Orb 0.1.0 · build 20261105.0417
Steady window buttons
The window buttons stay in place while the sidebar slides in and out.

Screen sharing and sign-in in Orb’s own windows
New
When a site asks to share your screen, Orb’s own chooser opens over the page, with tabs, windows and the entire screen, live previews and a switch to share audio. The shared tab is outlined in the sidebar, and you can move the share to another tab without stopping it.
Signing in to a site with an account from another service, such as a Google account, works in Orb’s own account sheet, with Use a different account where the provider offers it.
Help › Send Feedback sends a bug report, an idea or a note straight to the developer.

Rearrangeable splits, site search and Secure DNS
New

Type a site such as youtube or github in the command bar and press Tab to search it.

Settings › Links chooses where links from other apps open when no route matches.
Settings › General chooses the download folder and whether to ask where to save.
⌥⌘N opens a new Orbit window from any app while Orb is running, and Orb’s Dock menu offers New Window, New Private Window and New Orbit Window.
Settings › Sync shows how much of your Sync storage is used and warns before it fills up.
A Tweak you published can be updated from the Tweaks Gallery.
Importing from another browser brings addresses, and a signed-in Chrome profile’s account bookmarks and passwords.
Sites can use the system color picker through the EyeDropper API.
Improved
Quitting Orb or closing a private window while downloads are running asks first.
Reload, Back, Forward, Find, Zoom and Print work in Orbit, popup and Glimpse windows.
Full screen, pointer lock and keyboard lock show how to leave them, and an extension that attaches a debugger shows a banner you can cancel it from.
Sites no longer show prompts to install themselves as apps.
The Library button in the sidebar opens the Library.
Deleting a Space also removes the link routes that pointed to it, and Undo brings them back.
New profiles follow your Archive schedule.
Stability improvements.

Folder and split commands, and smarter addresses
New
Tidy Tab Titles, in Settings › Tabs, gives a pinned tab a short name using Apple Intelligence on your Mac. It’s off by default and appears on Macs that can run the on-device model.
Importing from Arc brings passwords, history and more along with your Spaces, and each Arc profile keeps its own data.
Folders can be deleted, moved to another Space and copied as links. Tabs can be duplicated in place, and a pinned tab can take the current page as its address.
⌘⌥-click opens a sidebar tab in Orbit.
Each pane in a split has its own close button, and new split commands such as Add Left Split.
The command bar completes addresses from your history and open tabs as you type.

Chromium security update and easier tab closing
Chromium 156.0.8078.80, with Google’s latest security fixes.
The current tab always shows its close button, and the tab menu adds Close Other Tabs and Close Tabs Below, with one undo.
Installing an extension in any Space offers to pin it.
A cleaner installer window.
Diagnostics, which you can turn off in Settings › Privacy, also count how often Orb’s features are used and include a rough install age and the build number. They never include what you type; the Privacy Policy lists everything they contain.
The window buttons appear in place as soon as a window opens.
